Including Long Lists of Years, States, etc.

Anyone have input on how to include lists on a site without it looking spammy? In other words, including a whole series of years (1976, 1977, 1978, etc.) as well as states (Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, etc.) on every page? Is there a way to include lots of these without looking spammy?
