Incentivized Sites - Tracking Offers?

Discussion in 'Affiliate Programs' started by chatmasta, Dec 27, 2006.

    Hey,

I'm looking to start an incentivized website, basically a "paid-to-shop" idea. I am interested in using both CJ and Azoogle.

However, the trouble is automatically (or at least semi-automatically) tracking when an offer is completed through my affiliate link so I can reward that user with his points.

Basically what I am asking is how to let my system know when a user has completed an offer through my affiliate link, both in CJ's system and Azoogle's system.

I know this obviously can be done because of the plethora of incentivized websites out there as well as this script. You can see by viewing the demo there that this page has some sort of way of tracking offers, but I don't understand what it is.

Believe me, I would buy this script myself, but my site isn't going to be that simple and all I am stuck on for the script is how to track offers.

    Please help, thanks. :)

    Hi,

I am not sure about Azoogle but Cj allows you to add an extra parameter which reports you back that a specific sale/lead is made by which referer. This paramter is called SID. For example if you put "&SID=xxxx" in your links then you will be able to see in the reports that that specific sale is made by xxxx.
Now only thing is to do is add dynamically user's id in place of "xxxx". For example you can or your programer can create a special tag {email}. Then just put this tag in your links and {email} will be replaced by the user's email who is taking that offer.
Then in reports from CJ you can see which sale is made by which email address or user id.
You can furthur automate it by using xml or csv reports adding into your database but that require more technical working.

    Best Regards,
    Adnan Azam

    Hi chatmasta,

I cannot speak for Azoogle, but at MaxBounty, we offer the functionality you are looking for. You can specify your member ID on the click-through URL you get from us. If/when the surfer completes the requirement for a lead, we can call a script on your side so that you can credit your member for your action.

This eliminates the need to run reports and manually enter credits.

Please feel free to ask any other questions you might have.

    Thank you.

Did you choose to go with that script you posted a link to, as well?

Can I ask what kind of incentivized site you are going to offer?

No, it isn't going to be a simlpe incentivized site. It's going to be much more complicated with referrals, etc...very community based.

    Hi Bronco,

Our sub-id tracking information is available once you've logged into MaxBounty. Full details on call-backs are not really described as there are as many different ways to do call-backs as there are affiliate sites. Your affiliate manager can help you out with this.

    Thank you

Thanks maxbounty :) just found out about that feature from this thread.

For my site the user member id is the simple php command $uid

so it was real easy, they get more credits for ringtones/wallpapers/java games they download for free on my site if they do one of 3 simple offers :)

The s1 and s2 variables eh? Jessica helped me a lot at my first time using this vars.

By the way maxbounty offer you 2 subid variables while most other affiliate networks only give you 1. MaxBounty Rocks...!:D
