What about all those websites that offer $500 Home Depot Cards or Walmart Cards or Cards - after you complete 8 or 9 website/sponsor offers??? How about the ones that you can earn a free laptop or plasma tv? Anyone do these? What about the websites that run accounts for members where they earn cash for completing free surveys, trial offers and shopping? Who knows anything about these sites? What happened to MetaRewards.com sites? What's happening and going on in the world of incentive marketing? I got ripped off. Did you? Are you a site owner of one of these sites? Info, Info, Info PLEASE!
There are loads of those (free gift offers) being promoted through AzoogleAds. According to my account manager, signing up as a publisher with one of those types of sites is frowned upon, though. I was roped into one of them a while back, I wanted a Mini Mac really badly but AOL, one of the "sponsors" I signed up with as part of the program requirements, screwed up and didn't cancel my account until the 3rd try so it put me back too far into debt to continue... After my bank made AOL return the funds I didn't want to go on. What are you wondering, really?
Well, something happened to me a while back - I took a freelancing job where I actually designed and set up an incentive site for a client. Once set up, etc..., I actually became a member and tried to earn a free laptop... Anyways, to make a long story - really short - it didn't work out and I ended up getting the bad end of the deal. I did get paid for my freelance job but I never did get the free laptop. Ever since, I've always had a real sore-spot for incentive programs.
I see. I've read here on DP that sometimes the agreements on those sites are so vague that you may not be 'entitled' to receive the reward per se because it's only a gift. I think it depends on the wording altogether and not just the word "gift." Seeing as how you actually can get in contact with the owner, and you have an existing relationship with him/her, why not say "hey, what's the deal?"
you must read terms and conditions of such websites very carefully for example last year i came across a website which were offering weight loss medicine in just $2 and when i read terms and conditions it was written that they will deduct $200 automatically if you did not cancel free trail with in 3 days ( and that too my sending mail)
That incentive program really taught me some valuable lessons indeed p; As part of that program I signed up with Disney Movie Club. Forgot to mention that earlier. Now... I have finally almost finished buying enough DVD's to fulfill my membership agreement. I sell those to the local used videos store for $6-8 each. :/
