I understand that there are several factors that go into the search engine rank of you site and that one is the number and quality of the inbound links that you have. What I'm not quite clear on is whether those links have to be to a specific page on your site or just to the top level domain. i.e. I have a site called http://www.spacetime.com.au which has perhaps 50 inbound links. I also have on online store which is http://www.spacetime.com.au/store It is this second site that I realy want to rate highly in the search engines but does in benefit from the links to the main site or do the links have to link specifically to that page ? I've reposted this question in the "links" forum and recieved some feedback. The feeback was that links back to my main (index) page will cause some juice to flow through to the various sub pages of my site/domain. Cheers M.
My friend this has been asked many times in DP so keep reading it secondly you should be aware of pagerank fundamental. 1) Backlink to any page will give juice to that page only, yes it will give very very low juice to other pages of your site. 2) It is better to target for homepage keyword first and then target with different keywords for deeplinking page. 3) Either you link to home page or deeplink page but link juice will pass to all page (but remember that passing of juice is very very very very low. cool mate
