Inbound links to homepage or inner page

Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying a quality and relevant PR8 link for my software download portal.

Should I point it to my homepage or some inner page?
How long could it take to see results in PR/SERPs?

what is the pr of your site?
you may point it to your homepage first,
once you get pr(3+) and cannot find any pr at inner pages,
then you may need deep links for higher inner page pr.
the next google pr update will be the end of month to early of August.
the duration is almost 3 months.

 

My homepage has PR4, some my inner pages are PR4, 1 even PR5
Will this info change the advice?

keep it simple for your case,
for pagerank, homepage.
for advertisement, inner page.
btw, what kind of pr8 site do you plan to buy?
and how do you justify whether it is quality or not?
