    My new site is ready.
Now - to the inbound links task...

But how do I get started ? What is the first step ?
I have tried contacting sites that are relevant to my topic asking them to switch links
But not one responded my request.

What is the best way to start... ?

Submit it to stumbleupon, delicious, reddit.com, digg.com.

Do stumble trades in the DP freebie forum.

    Submit to directories

    Blog about it

You could always sponsor my new stunning phpLD Template TechnoDir - click here for my DP thread! - sorry, I couldn't resist ;)

On a serious note (not that my offer wasn't seroius!), sponsorship links are a great way of generating many links as each link is sitewide and templates are downloaded many times.

For me, when I started my first site, links were hard to come by, many people won't offer links for 'new' sites but I perceveared, submitted my sites to directories, joined relevant forums and put links in my sigs, and yes I admit, I bought some quality links to begin with.

Now I have a small network of sites and blogs, many of which have good PR, I can generate my own cross site links and achieve inital PR relatively easily, this inital PR is IMHO possibly the most important of all PR's because it opens your site to better link exchanges.

Starting a links campaign for a new site can be extremely frustrating. Most sites wouldn't want to link to a very new site. Work on writing and adding more content to your site. Make sure you don't make it look like a MFA site or made to Earn money only. Make the site useful, add content to it, and it will help attract natural links, as well as help you in your links campaign. This Link Development Guide I wrote can be of some help also. Also start a Directory Submission campaign for it, if you haven't already started.
