I've hit #1 for a 1300 searches per month keyword. It's been almost 2 weeks now, and i havent got a single hit yet That's for google.com but i've checked google.co.uk and couple of others im not #1 there but 1st page, so that should be well propagated around the servers and so... I've got 1st page for the very same site for few other terms as well with similar monthly traffic. Not getting any traffic from them either... So, is the google monthly searches data highly inaccurate? What's your experience with that? On average the #1 spot is supposed to get about 42% of the monthly searches traffic.
it really depends on whether you rank for broad match or exact match with exact match search volume being significantly lower. also, google has many different datacenters so not everyone will see the same result. however, you should get atleast few click by now. would be easier to tell if the keyword in question was known
If you're logged in with your google account as you search, Only you will see your site ranking #1 in google. Also is it local google site or the global one? That's the kind of stuff you have to think about.
where did you get the 1300 searches per month keyword of that one?? and even if you rank well on it there is no assurance that you can get good traffic..
That's very odd, better know if you really ranking on top, in my experience, when you got on top for a certain keyword/keyphrase, you can get some additional traffic from long-tail keyword of those keywords.
I think an analytics having only 1300 searches couldn't gain much of a hit in Google searches. Usually a 10000 and up monthly search volume analytics are the one who give reasonable effects on hit gains especially if you're website ranks first to second page.
I'm guessing you have used the Google Keyword Tool and with the setting "Broad". You should try switching "Broad" to "Exact" and see what you get.
Keywords ranking and high traffic can be achieve at the same if you know the sources on where to drop your links. For example, if you want a targeted audience, you can join relevant forums where you can promote your brand. In this case there is a big chance that you can get interested people to click through your link and buy your product. As simple as that.
i'm ranked for the broad match, even if i were exact i would still get some traffic by now I'm checking without being logged to google. About the comment that this is too low number...well low or not i should get some traffic by now, even if its few hits So, what i wanted to ask here is if someone else has experienced the same? And do you feel that data might be quite in accurate?
add the site in your google webmaster tools and see if you are getting any impressions for that keyword. Btw, 1300 (broad) is a too low count keyword to target on.
Check your rankings with Scroogle - that is your true "unfiltered" ranking, although it will still be different for every person but gives you a better idea. Also Google's search volume data is pretty innacurate at low volumes, and also highly skewed to the past (you could have picked a trend which is dead). Also if it is broad search then the majority of searches could be for a longer keyword. For example hardly anyone might search for 'coca' but loads will search for 'coca cola' but a broad search count includes the 'coca cola' counts too, and just cause you rank for coca does not mean you rank for coca cola.
Webguru4u, yeah i bet is too low for guru like you chris-tew, thanks that's a good tool, but im on the same position there as well, which makes the things even more weird webmaster tools for this domain also doesnt show any search query stats and it has been added long ago enough uh
