Inaccurate Google Adsense Ads

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by Blaster, Jul 5, 2007.

My problem is this: The Adsense ads being displayed on my site are inaccurate. My site named is www.ventvent.com which is focused around venting frustrations and getting stuff off your chest. Unfortunately Adsense keeps putting ads on my site for ventilation and ducting. I have also added the Adsense code that’s supposed to fix this exact problem (With no luck). I thought Google would eventually catch on as it indexed more and more of my site but it's now been 6 weeks and it's still showing incorrect ad information on the home page. Any help would be appreciated.

Make: [vent, venting,] your LAST keywords in your meta tags instead of 2nd and 3rd position.

I removed the "vent" and "venting" meta tags and it still seems to be showing inaccurate ads on the home page. Does it take time for Adsense to self correct itself and learn your site again?

I also already use "section targeting" in my code. Could the problem be that between the section targeting I'm referencing the work vent (example - vent.php)?

I have checked your web site very quickly and I am not surprised that Adsense is serving the wrong Ads. Here are 2 simple things that would help fixing your problem:

1- You should first change the title of your homepage to something more related to frustration. Having VentVent as the title is not enough.

2- You might also want to add an "alt" attribute to your header that includes your keywords.

Except from the description meta, the word frustration is not to be seen anywhere at the beginning of your web page and this is so frustrating (just kidding :)).

These changes, should help you a bit with search engines as well.

    Good luck.

i have the same exact problem with a page on one of my sites, and i've had my complaints escalated to the second level of adsense support... they never suggested that i use section targeting, and i had all the correct alt tags, page title, and meta text.

their final response to the lousy ad targeting was that their targeting technology was working optimally.

about all that you can do is to remove the word "vent" from inside the area being used for section targeting, and don't use that word in the page title.

You might be good here, but I also heard that depending on how well your site is indexed can play into effect of the relevancy of your ads.

It all reallyt depends on the content and not meta tags. kewep the meta relevant to your content.

if you don't like the ads that are showing up i would recomend you that Add some keywords related to your site and also create a Filter in adsense
