High PR == motivational factor + trust + reputation + traffic Up to some extent PR really matters, but what i have noticed in the last few years is : If you gonna get high traffic then your PR will automatically be taken care of by Google
Its only of much important to people who sell links on their website , if some websites have good traffic and less PR still it can make good profit.
It is important in many ways. As what we know, this is the algorithm of Google that ranks our sites based on their backlinks. But all in all, it really depends on who you ask. Your site gets more credibility if linked to a high ranked and trusted site. You need to have a handful of perfectly placed subject specific trusted links.
I think it is important in this way: Google will update your site very regularly and will show your site in search results with a priority.
In my view Page Rank is not so important as many people think. Look on the content quality and backlinks quality and quantity.
Define "really important"? If you break the algorithm into its pieces: 1. The first factor is the appropriateness of keywords in the anchor tags of your inbound links. 2. Second most important is the appropriateness of the content on your page to what the searcher is looking for. 3. The appropriateness of the content in the entire network of sites that brings the links to your site and to the sites linking to you. 4. PageRank. The total weight of the internet's interest in your site when viewed without any other context. Is PageRank the #1 big factor? No. PageRank only begins to matter once you've done the SEO work. If the SEO work sucks, PageRank will not save your site. But, once you've done the SEO work and your site is being considered for SERPs in your preferred keywords, then PageRank starts to matter. PageRank provides you extra leverage against other websites that are also well SEOed in your preferred keywords. Don't sweat PageRank until you've done the SEO work.
Some ppl say it it, some ppl say it's not. Depends on what is your site made for, if for making money, then yes, PR is important. And how bigger your PR how better you score in the search engines.
It's really not important at all. It's just so easy to manipulate that they really can't use it as a decent metric anymore. The only thing it's good for is for *possibly* judging backlinks. A site with a high PR AND GOOD RANKINGS (this is important) can probably provide a valuable backlink. On the other hand, a ton of link trading goes on and sites will end up with a PR6 or 7 but not get any decent rankings. I mean you can buy a PR6 domain really, really cheap and have it not give you any benefit whatsoever. Way back I used to buy high PR domains, put up machine generated spam content and be banking hard within 2 days. Now you're better off looking for authority and age if you want to manipulate things.
Why do many people now hire SEO to improve PR or to get high PR? This prove that PR is really important. It refers to the website's rank on search engine.
For me it`s not that important. What I want from my websites is page 1 in Google. This is all I care about, and I don`t care if i have a pr0
PR wasn't ever important in my view i don't care about it Rankings=> traffic is all that mather And PR and RANKINGS are 2 diffrent things with like 0 conexion ...
It used to be really important but I think they dropped weight from it around 2004 or 2005. Before that you could inflate or buy PR any way you wanted, put up completely unrelated content and instantly rank for the terms you were targeting. Looking back, it's obvious why they devalued PR as soon as they had better stuff to go on.
I actually think it is important of a few reasons: - If you want to sell ads, you can get higher price, if you have a higher PR - Why would google still have the PR, and it wouldn't count for your position? I think they still are working with it, and they base your position on the PR + a lot of other factors
There seems to be a shift away from PR importance, since there are many high PR sites which see no action or updates anymore, but retain their PR rankings. There are many sites which have a PR of 0 despite their traffic, relevance and usefulness. But, given that, i think PR is like meta tags. It's something you have to pay attention to, just in case that the algorithms of matt cutts and the google team decide to shift the force back there. So, yes, PR is still important, and you can't disregard it.
I think page rank comes automatically. I never focus onto get in the higher PR. My first and last target is to collect traffic. But in the case of making backlinks I prefer to make links with those sites that have good PR. So PR playing duel character according to different situation. So for me PR is important because higher PR means higher reputation in the search engine. It's not useless at all.
From my point of view it is important. If your page rank is good then it is prove your content and search engine visit your sites regularly.
