Shabu runs a great paid directory list. Check out his list. Or Directory Rate as WallaceYeung noted.

But to answer your question, I'd like to be listed in all the paid directories! :) Here's a few of the most noteworthy ones. And I apologize if I left some out because it is late and I am getting tired....

    Yahoo
    DMOZ
    Business.com
    BOTW.org
    JoeAnt.com
    dirjournal.com

I very much doubt it. They are made for webmasters not for web users. I could list hundreds of reasons why they wouldn't list them.

    the biz-giant network :D

I suppose dmoz as its FREE but the downfall is it takes years for review. :(

All others i can just pay for a review and within "reasonable
amount of time" i will get the acceptance or rejection notice.

    thx

BOTW is not accepting new directories and would never accept anything like a link bid directory.

I think you got that backwards there Mikey.

We accept sites that meet out listing guidelines. Any "new directory" that contains a substantial amount of valuable, unique, relevant content would be eligible. The key word there being substantial, which I have addressed in a previous thread.

A bidding directory? Isn't that typically a list of sites arranged in descending order of how much the site owner was willing to pay the "directory" owner? That doesn't really sound like much of a directory to me, and I'd venture to guess that it would provide little value to users. As such, you'd be taking a risk in submitting it.

This was exactly my point and the main reason I believe they would be rejected - because they are designed to make money from webmasters paying them - not from average web surfers browsing them for research or leisure.
