In what time a backlink takes effect (in SERPs)?

Can someone give a reliable answer, in what time I can expect a move in SERPs, after getting a PR5 backlink with a keyword in anchor - for a page which ranked 100+ in Google. My question is - in what time.

In what time you've noticed SERPs move? 24 hours...days?

Well nobody can give you exact time, bcoz first that link needs to be indexed by se's and it can take effect upon serp update.

There are really hard to predict that due to there are many variables, crawling, domain age, trustrank, pagerank, etc.

The quickest, I have ever seen a SERPS position move due to an inbound link is less than 24 hours. While on other occasions, I have waited to days for the effect to show.

OK, 6 hours, 24 hours, days - these are answers.

I intend to test some PR5 backlinks, so I need to know how much time to wait to see eventual results.

I wouldn't be at all surprised or disappointed to find the process even taking weeks or more!

I have some REALLY juicy backlinks on pages that just aren't getting indexed by Google, which is really annoying! I even find myself submitting those pages to Google, just in case the bot missed them :)

It's a long-term operation creeping up the SERPs, not for the impatient...

Even one or two high pr links don't affect ranking quickly, however every link help more or less .

As others have said, it all depends on how often the site is indexed by whichever Search Engine you're optimizing for.

Assuming you're using Google you can form a rough idea of this by simply checking how often the page in question is updated. If it's a static .html file then it probably doesn't get indexed for months, possibly years. If it's a blog or frequently updated page then it'll be far more often. Sites like Digg are indexed every half hour or less. I've gotten new sites indexed in less than an hour using free sites alone.

You can also type the page URL into Google and click 'cached' to see when it was last indexed. This should give you some idea of when you can expect to see your link take effect re SERPs.

I you want an answer instead of no answer, I will say 48 hours, assuming the page that is linking is indexed,

It can take any where from a few days to a few months.

It all depends on how often the search engines crawl the sites in which your links are on and then when ever the next Page Rank Update is; To decide a Page Rank for that time.
