Having been away for a week, I returned back to my apartment in the UK yesterday to find I could not get through the security gates as the 4 digit pin code would not work (turns out it had been changed) and luckily one of my neighbours let me in and explained there had been an incident and went onto explain that there had been a drugs raid by the police but she could not explain more as she was leaving to go out. I live in a nice area in a recently converted house which has 6 apartments with 3 on the ground floor and 3 on floor 1 with 2 having a 3rd floor. This is located in a nice area and what happened has really shocked me. Anyway I learned the full facts today. In Jan 2009 a set of new tenants moved into the middle top floor apartment and this was a young couple with a child. Since then some local people in the area had complained about a strange odour coming from the house and in turns out that the Police have been watching the house for sometime and have used thermal cameras on Helicopters to view the house. There were also several cars and visitors to the apartment. On Tuesday the Police entered the grounds of the house (with the help of a neighbour) and proceeded to raid the said apartment (door knocked down) and found that in one room there were near 200 almost ready to harvest cannabis plants. The occupants had fled. The after affects may last sometime as aparently Cannabis plants need water, hot lights and electrical fans to thrive and this cause a lot of condensation which permeates the building. So since Jan I have been living in a house with a cannabis farm. I have actually had some smell and taste problems which started in Jan 2009 and are still ongoing but I am not sure these are related. Here is where I live
you honestly think that your smell and taste has been effected by the cannabis around your general area? Nope, your wrong on that one. Yeah no kidding, all plants need water and light, as well as cause humidity as they convert co2 to oxygen, which is what humans need to survive. The only thing that I can think is that it's a bummer that it effected you getting into your house.
Growsers have been moving into the "rich" neighborhoods for ages. You would be surprised how many of the $250K+ homes in Florida are giant growhouses or ecstasy stockpiles. The people who own/rent these places are soo paranoid, that often times there's two of them right next door to eachother and neither realizes what the other is doing.
People who grow cannabis are moving into "rich" neighborhoods mainly due to the low level of police traffic. Police tend to patrol problem areas more. Trying to lower crime levels. So, criminals are getting smarter. High level drug dealers live in the "rich" areas and distribute to the poverty stricken areas.
Dude!! run down there chuck in a box of matches and watch the neighbourhood get highhhh!! Lols regrds, B.
I saw that news somewhere.. could have been on the bbc. buts its amazing that it happened where you live
