I was recently reading a blog about a topic which was stating that in the coming times the page load speed is going to be a very huge factor in determining a site's Pagerank. It was also written that in future a lot of SEO will depend on a site's loading speed.
What is your opinion about it?

According to me Yes certainly it will because As I have heard all these search engines are trying to develop faster crawlers which can index web pages faster and as the web pages will be indexed faster, there maybe some cases that if your site loading speed be low google/(any other search engines) may not be able to index our pages/site so for the search engines to crawl our pages we need to have a fast site. well that is my opinion about it. What about you guys?

Google has been quoted that page loading speed may be used as a factor in determining rankings (not 'Pagerank').

Whenever you hear someone at Google talk about future changes you can pretty much count on those changes already having been made. In other words, I would guess (and there is anecdotal evidence for this) that page loading speed is already a ranking factor.

How long ago was it that Google released the Firefox add-on for estimating page loading speeds?
