THere are lists everywhere but I know Vile Silencer only considers a directory "Free" if there is no recip required.

PS. You can always submit to the Business Directory (which is on his list)

There are various lists of "SEO friendly" directories where you don't need to add a link to your site for it to be considered. However, these go out of date pretty quickly because directory owners get inundated with requests, and tend to switch to reciprocal-required or paid after a while.

So treat lists like Vilesilencer's as a guide only, and check what it says in the directory guidelines or on the submission page. It will usually tell you fairly prominently if you need to link back.

Also, notice that there are a lot of directories that 'ask' for a reciprocal and are not required.
