Hello there I have told a friend of mine that I would make some enquiries for him. He has just started up a supplement company that sells supplements to athletes and weight lifters. Once he has a site produced he would like to have SEO done on it to try and bring it to the top of google. How many key words would he need to select and is this SEO done online or offline?

    Many Thanks

there is no set numbers of keyword where one should go for. you should research the amount of searches on each keyword, and pick the ones with a high volume of searches. this will let you target the largest audience.

online ofcourse, there is no such thing as offline search engine optimization.

Hey, just think, the more high traffic keywords that he uses throughout his site, the more organic traffic he will generate. In other words, don't limit yourself. Each page should have it's own unique title tags, no more then about 83 characters and then you want to put those keywords thoughout the website pages in the text. If you really want to get massive free traffic using seo I recommend using two things. I've managed to get up to 40-60% organic traffic on certain websites I promote! Hope that helps!

Hi thanks for your advice however he really does not have time to research and learn SEO hence he is wanting to outsource it for someone else to do.

So... he simply has to select keywords he wants (how would you tell what keywords get the most traffic?)

If he hires someone to do the SEO, that person or company should perform keyword research in his niche, and optimize his site for the best-suited, highest-performing keywords.

Also, if he wants to know himself, use this tool: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Type in the word 'supplements' and it will suggest the best words to you based on their search volume.

just by mentioning the product you cant judge the keywords.if you already have the products in mind, start by designing a website first. If you want to do this according to SEO perspective first you need to do is keyword research. You can use the tool what Tara33 has mentioned. When you have a couple of keywords in hand just create a content on your site.SEO is the best way to promote your site online. It really does wonders.I suggest you to hire an expert who will guide you with all the factors relating to SEO.
