I did, including the quote of actual law and an explanation of what it means for American citizens but I can understand that you don't get it.
The trouble is what you quoted had nothing to do with what you are contending. Nice try though. At least you are making an effort. And here I thought you were a waste of oxygen.
Let me predict your future: Very soon you will be declared a pro terrorist or a terrorist by Gtech and his gang.
So basically you are trying to say that Bush made this law so he can be able to detain anyone from his bed in wee hours and put him behind the bar for indefinite time without any charges or trial or lawer, that too without a reason? The Current Administration or any administration?
Considering my military service and love for my country I know I am not a terrorist. If someone chooses to call me that for lack of intelligent debate, that is on them.
Your basic argument is that we don't need laws to protect us since governments never do anything bad and only punish people who deserve it, right? may be you should talk with some of victims of McCarty era persecutions that had their lives ruined, I am sure there are some who are still around.
Duh, Talk about avoiding question when you cant answer a simplest one. Here I put it once again. Are you a Democrat? (just a question, no pun intended)
The question is loaded and stupid. What do you mean by without a reason? Of course they only arrest people for a "reason" but who is there to judge if that is a valid reason? Is disagreeing with the government a valid reason? Is reading a book a valid reason? Is talking to people who disagree with government a valid reason? That is the reason that there is a Constitution, laws and courts to decide if there is a reason or without a reason. Now you can answer my questions: Do you believe that U.S. Constitution is important document designed to protect the citizens of USA or just a piece of paper? Do you think that government is never wrong or do you think they can make a mistake? Do you think that Citizens in a democratic society should have rights including the protection of the law and every one is innocent until proved guilty or do you think that people should have no right and government should be able to decide every citizen fate without any courts or defense?
So you are saying that bush made this law so he can detain anyone who disagrees with him? Why did he make this law, according to you? Constitution is a subject to change, it was written by policy makers, Policy makers made several amendments, so while its important it can be changed. There is no government in the world that has done everything just right. So saying a govt. cant make mistakes is ignorant. Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures. Democracy is a beautiful thing but US needs to take some strict steps to secure the lives of citizens and terrorists cant be allowed to use democracy as shield. No matter if your eyes deny to see it but I believe they(administration) are doing almost everything that they can do to prevent terrorism while maintaining as much freedom to it's citizen as possible.
When the steps involve removing rights and liberties, that men and women have given their lives to defend, something is very wrong.
Governments have been known to do this. The same way that a day suddenly doesn't turn to night and it goes through many steps, democracy doesn't turn to dictatorship in a single move. There are procedures defined for the changing the Constitution, so if that is what this administration wants to do then they should go through proper procedures. glad that you agree. In this case without any courts and lawyers, how do we know that government has arrested the right person and for a valid reason? Democracy is not a shield for terrorists, democracy is a shield for the innocents. What is terrorism? The disturbance of democratic process through use of violence. The lack of democracy is the ultimate goal of terrorists and the biggest shield for tyrants.
