.in domains?

    okay do we need to live in india or some place to legally own a .in domain? I might buy one but not if there is a risk.

    I live in the USA.

    I think anyone can... I found this registry site: http://www.registry.in/ which says they are available to anyone.

    ANYONE can buy a .in domain. There are no location restrictions, however I would not reconmend buying one if you are looking to attract international traffic. But if your main market is India, then go for it!

    I remember when i was buying a .US domain they made me click the thing that said i was a legal US citizen. So i thought it was a similar thing.

    There are definately no restrictions, i've registered 3 .in domains so far, and it is .in but there are .co.in domains also

    i think co.in domains are ugly, or any domains that have ll.ll

    yeah it is a lot of fun, .in is worth the reging for sure but .co.in as you said is just pure ugly. plenty of good keywords still available for .in too
