    Hi all,
I have submitted my site long back to DMOZ and YAHOO.

I am basically a Java Programmer web mastering Java Sites. The site I made as shown below focus's on Learning Core Java Concepts, Swing Tutorials, and A Java Discussion Forum etc.

    http://www.beginner-java-tutorial.com

    It got Listed in DMOZ.

But Its not appearing in YAHOO DIRECTORY

Is there anything I should do to get it listed in Yahoo DIRECTORY

DMOZ is free, Yahoo costs $299/year.

Yahoo does allow non-commercial sites in for free. But it's like pulling teeth for most of us non-commercial sites to get in free. I got into DMOZ on the first try. I've been trying Yahoo's free submission for three years with no success. :(

I think you need to go for paid submission on yahoo directory.

Dmoz is editor based directory so they are accepting the sites in free.
    For Yahoo its paid directory.

    No Sir,
I thought I am using only 3 adsense units which is fine. Google Adsense Allows upto 3 adsense units.

    Check out the site http://www.freejavaguide.com

I had made it a couple of months ago and had sold it. Its listed in Yahoo directory even with google ads.

Thanks. I'm going to try that one. I've tried other "national" Yahoo submissions, still with no success to date.

If you look at my thread I posted yesterday ... PCN got listed in Yahoo Directory for free.

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=301371

We applied roughly 2 weeks ago and they placed us directly above Sony's website.

So it is possible to get listed in the for free .. and quite quickly.

How populated is the category you submitted to? It's usually easier to get included in categories with few listings.
