In China, government websites have high PR

    I don't know whether it is the same in other countries, but in China, government's websites have high PR, like PR 9 and PR 10.

    Why is it like that?

    That's because of the amount of work they put into it directly and indirectly. The only way to get high PR is to do SEO properly.

    Most of the .edu and .gov domains have high PR as they are authentic and important.

    Government sites do not need to do any seo to get high PR. They are usually THE authority site for when someone does a search for a government website. Also, they naturally get links to them due to their clear authority position as a government website.

    I agree this post. I also think this is the major reason behind high page rank of government site, and this not only in china but also over the world.

    It's because they are the official site of the country's government, so these websites get high traffic.

    It's not for China, most of the other countries government website has high PR.

    In general gov sites have high PR because they are authority sites, which is why edu and gov backlinks are highly sought after
