In and out of Google SERPS

I have a website that has been around for about 2 years. I changed platforms from Joomla to Wordpress about 3 months ago. I keep going from page 1 to past page 20 for certain keywords. I have found over 1,500 pages not found in Google Webmaster tools and asked for directories that don't exist to be removed. I have 301 redirected all pages that external links but it still shows page one for a few days then drops off the SERPs.

I have been consistently link building, and because of the domain age I don't think it is sandbox.

    Any ideas?

it can happen when you make a major change but usually gets taken care of over time. what you need is some link building to have googlebot make frequent visit to your blog and start indexing the pages. you will get your ranking back and it will be more stable over time once you start doing some link building.

I have had similar experiences when changing platforms. You just have to be patient and keep on doing what you're doing.

Today I was checking my ranking status in Google and was at #1 for a particular phrase; I accidentally clicked away from the page and, upon quickly hitting the back button to get back on the Google page to take a snapshot for my records - I was suddenly in position 3. I refreshed several times but I was no longer in the number 1 position and that was in the time span of 1 second or less.

    Good luck!

Once again.... In for two days and then out again...

I went through my Google Webmaster Tools and reduced the amount of errors that Google was seeing. I am down to less then 100 errors from 1500 errors two weeks ago.

The rest of the errors will leave when Google tries to recrawl the pages..

Any other ideas? I have been consistently building links from multiple platforms. Everything from social bookmarks, to directories, to blog comments, etc.

Any further ideas? I also just recently submitted my rss feed to 50 +sites.

Not sure what elese it could be... I could see if it was consistently out of the top 200 serps, but to go from #5 to not in the top 200 in one day seems like a weird occurrence.
