This is my first post here. My name is Dan. I just launched a twitter web app for finding links in your twitter stream and I have an SEO dilemma. I just bought twitterlinktweet.com (current url) & twitterlinktweets.com (301 redirecting for now) I like the way twitterlinktweets.com sounds, but it seems that the singular keyword of 'link tweet' gets much more search traffic. What do you think is the best choice? & Thanks, Dan
I'm not sure what your delima is. You're saying "twitter link" has more searches than "twitter links" and BOTH of the domains you listed have "twitter link" (the singular high search volume phrase) in them... it's the "tweet vs. tweets" that is different. Having keywords in your domain name only really gives you a significant boost in rankings if your domain is an EXACT match for the search phrase. So neither "twitterlinktweet.com" nor "twitterlinktweets.com" is really going to help you rank for "twitter link" any more than some domain without the keywords that uses the keywords in the folder and file name portion of the URL (like example.com/twitter-link/ or example.com/folder/twitter-link.html). "twitterlinktweet.com" nor "twitterlinktweets.com" are really only going to give you a noticable boost in rankings for searches for "twitter link tweet" and "twitter link tweets", respectively... which probably no one ever searches for. I would say go with the one that sounds the best... the one that rolls off the tongue better... the one that people are going to remember easier. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
Sorry posted the wrong screen shots in my post.. fixed now. I assume since the plural doens't even give a search volume number, that isn't so great?
