Hi, I am looking to improve my keyword density on some of the landing pages, I am looking to get above 5%, but I am stuck at 2-3%. The keyword I am targeting appears 46 times on the page (loads of text, not blatantly spamming). it's in the <title> it's in meta description it's in meta tags it's in <h1> it's hyperlinked and appears bold in 1 place on the page. Result: 2.69% keyword density. Where could be the problem? Any advice would be highly appreciated! PS - forgot to add that the keyword is also in the domain name!
Better if it's lower as per my observation and experience it is good to have it 3 times appear on the page (the keyword) depending on the length of the article Meta Tags are not counted but as far as density is concern Title, URL (permalink) including domain name, appearance on the page are the one's you have to take note of. Including images name, title and alt tags. Many say that 3% or below is the best.
2-3% percent is good. From user viewpoint 5% will look like spam; instead boost your offpage activities.
It is decent keyword density. In fact some times it differs on the basis of Industry and Domain Age. If your industry is not too competetive and your domain age is older[2+] then stick with the current keyword density. Otherwise you can increase you density by following; -Alt Tag -Start and End of the paragraph or page in Content -<h2> and <h3>
Maintaining keyword density of 2%-4% out of all content is good, but your content should be fresh and unique.
Agree totally with 3% being about right. Sadly no "magic" number but spamming a page is risky. Focussing more on off-site SEO should help with PR and you should see your site PR start to increase.
somentimes there are strange things when i used google keywords tool. Some keywords with high rate be advertized less, how could it happen
5% is usually the density for major keywords. Have you thought about your minor keywords? Have you tried to use some synonys if your keywords? Have you palced keywords in the domain and the link text?
