    I have heard that sitemaping can improve google ranking. Can any one tell how it works.
    What exactly do I have to do on sitemaping to increase page ranking.

    No, sitemaps doesn't increase page rank. It helps google to crawl website. Thats it.

    sitemap is a way to tell the search engine which pages in your website should be indexed and what new content has been added.
