Improving Forum CTR - What worked for you?

I've heard a lot about forums having low CTR's and experienced this myself.

    My site is around 0.3%

I was wondering what changes other forum adsense publishers made to their site that resulted in additional adsense earnings?

    Placements, colors, different ad types?

Anything that could help me (or other forum admins) match their spiralling server fees per month.

I moved the ad placements around. I also put up an ad links under the nav bar to increase the eCPM.

I concentrate on the theme of my blog and use the same main words a lot so I get the correct adverts so people click on a similar advert to the blog they are reading.

I have a movie review forum and found that the setting for "image ads only" gave the best return, as they are often new movie trailers.
    Worked for that niche, anyway.
Just might work for similar ones.

Interesting idea. I think i'll try that for a few days.

Any idea if the Ebay ads pay well?
