if you are using wordpress you can use the All in one SEO plugin. This allows you to do exactly the same but with out having to edit any code. You can simply use the %page_title% | %blog_title% in the page title setting in the plug in settings.

Also another good tip is Under settings and permalinks change it to /%postname% this displays url with postname rather than just auto generated numbers from the post.

Don't forget people, that this is just a small tweak. It's worth doing, but if you really want to see higher traffic, you need to build quality links into your site to push it up the serps and attract relevant visitors.

You mean the standalone blog or the blog hosted on the wordpress.com or blogger.com, whether it works fine for all of them!
