    Hi Everyone!!

I've just launched a new website and managed to get indexd by google and starting to rank well.

    So all is good.

However my serps don't look too good.

Have a look at it: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:thinkrugby.net

How can I get to improve that?

It's showing text which I would rather not show.

    Any ideas?

you need to edit the meta tag description - This is generally what the search engines use for the content in their listings

but again it would be the same text for every indexed page.

Is there a way of getting it to look at the main content of my page?

yes you need to change the meta tag for each page so that it relates to that particular page.

I know this text will change depending on what is searched in Google. But often you can get garbage in there.

As mentioned before you need to change the "title" and "description" field for each page to get the best results.

I am using a custom CMS so it would be hard to change meta tags individually for each page, so how can I optimise content?
