i don't do any of the tips you mentioned, yet i got 50k alexa rank So, the bottom line is, work on your over all traffic without bothering about other things and your alexa rank will naturally improve...
yeah I as thinking with this too... They only measure Alexa Ranking from the users who also has the Alexa Tootbar.. So those people without the Alexa tool will not be counted as a record..

yep, i agree. alexa is also one of the biggest factor measured by advertiser to consider the site. good alexa ranking means greater opportunity to have advertisers.
I would try to improve my Alexa ranking in case I decided to sell my domain name, or if I wanted to find advertisers to place their ads on my site. They will probably look at my Alexa ranking first of all. So, higher ranking (doesn't matter what made it higher) helps.

I don't think alexa is so useful . I can show you many blogs those receive 100k impression per month and their alexa in above 100k but We can find many blogs which receives 20 k to 40k impression per month but alexa ranking are like 70k or 60k . So I don't think alexa is so important for webmasters .
