Impressions & clicks don't seem right

Would you say 738 impressions and 2 clicks for today seem right? I have only been approved by AdSense as of the other day, but I am recieving plenty of impressions minus the clicks.

I don't know whether it is me just worrying, or whether those statistics are a little unusual. Don't get me wrong, I am happy whatever happens through AdSense, but to me the CTR seems a little too low.

And if the CTR is lower does that mean I'll get paid less per click, or, is that all to do with eCPM?

 

You prolly didn't optimize your site well enough. Is it the webmaster forum? If so, then your traffic will prolly be from webmasters who know about adsense and are ad blind and completely ignore your ads.
Some times you have good days and others, .. not so.

My site has been tremendously low today, too. I was riding a high streak all week as well.

 

Ah, I can't believe I never thought of that before, because I am a webmaster I am pretty blind to adverts, although maybe 1 or 2 ever catch my eye. I guess it probably is that to tell you the truth .

Your CTR depends on the topic of your site and the relevancy of the ads to the interests of your visitors. If your site is new, you may not be getting relevant ads yet. It also depends on the ad format you are using and the placement and number of those ads. It also depends on the type of visitors you're getting. Technical visitors tend to click less than non-technical visitors. Forum visitors tend to be repeat visitors and are ad-blind. Blogs tend to have trouble getting relevant ads because the topics of the posts varies.

 

Good answer, and it has given me a bit more understanding on CTR, plus I have been doing a bit of Googling while I have been away . I figured out one small problem, and I have now fixed it so the CTR has gone up a little bit.

 

Your CTR seems very low. On average, an optimized site should be getting at least 5% CTR. Did you see the ads? Are they relevant to your topic? It is possible that your site is showing irrelevant ads since it is new. After a while. it will be corrected.

 

What type of web site is it?

 

Try to change your placement and colors.
It's something normal to have a lot more impressions than clicks as long as it's not a MFA site.
