impression tracking?

I build interfaces which force the 1x1 tracking image for each CJ ad I display on my sites. I do not believe these images are being counted correctly however wonder if it matters? Sales and clicks are what count... why worry about impression counts?

That said, why offer the impression stats if you are not going to count them? How do I know I did it right-- [put in the right tracking image]? I see the impressions for my visits.

    Q..

Having some information is better than none. Nothing is tracked perfectly.

I don't rely on CJ tracking. But advertisers like to know these things.

Ultimately what matters is that the cookie is set and you get paid when a purchase you deliver takes place.

There are a lot of BOTS that hit pages quickly and don't stay around long enough for everything to load. Network traffic, congestion... how high up the page your ads are placed within the context of other content... many reasons why pixel tracking is never completely precise.

I never worry about tracking impressions through CJ. Just worry about clicks and conversions.

the data is not correct, so i finally give up cj and join affiliates directly from their sites.
