With the lack of responses, you're probably correct.

fast click is meant to be the mother of pay per impression affiliate programs.

    Has anyone used FastClick?

All I have ever read or seen is people who get next to nothing, or those people that design very poor sites stating how you can earn massive revenue through clicks. To make anything substantial I think you need millions of visitors a month, once running costs is taking off then your probably no better off. Only my opinion

If it was impression based, it wouldn't really be an affiliate program, it would be an advertising agreement, wouldn't it?

Yes CPM programs are not called affiliate programs.

We are launching a new very robust affiliate program that will be pay per click though, which is almost as good. Plus if you have lots of general traffic a pay per lead program might make you some good money.

I used Fastclick a couple of years ago, but I don't recommend them at all..

Ugly and annoying ads, that didn't fit my (or most) website(s) at all..
You normally get under $1 pr. 1000 impressions, and many impressions gets blocked by "anti-ad" software..

their pop-up/unders pays ok, but no one likes them.
And again, lots of them gets blocked...
Best way to scare away potential and returning customers/visitors...

I've had best luck with affiliate programs like CJ, and no PPCs I've found can match Adsense...

Same experience here. I dropped most of the Fastclick based revenue streams since it was not context sensitive like Adsense.

Now I use only context related materials: Amazon, Adsense, Searchfeast, etc. with some degree of success. Adsense being the best performing.

It seems more and more evident that AdSense is bounds ahead of the competition.

I would love to have access to the Advanced Google Adsense functions. You need over 2 million hits a month to be considered however.

Actually 20 million page views is what you need (a lot different than 2M hits). :)

You can find alot of impression based (CPM) affiliate programs at affiliateseeking.com

I'm not quite sure if these are the sort of programs that you mean, but these programs pay per 1000 impressions and some of the popup impression based programs listed roughtly pay between $2.00 - $6.00 CPM.

    There are many listed!

How exactly do impressions work? Are they unique visitors as in ip addresses? or is it views?
I'm very confused on what exactly an impression is. Can someone please clarify?
