I've got two domain names that I bought without fully researching first (there was no site on them when I bought them). Turns out looking at Archive.org one of them was used as a porn page and the other was used as a huge spammy page. I've had both domains for 6 months now. After putting a site up on one of them and noticing googlebot wasn't biting, I emailed them and explained I was a new owner and the techniques used in the previous site were no longer being used, and that I was within all the guidelines. There response: Automated email linking to faqs... I wrote again and said that wasn't helping they needed to unban my domain.... Same thing... 2 months ago I emailed them about my second domain (the one that had porn on it before) and I got the same auto-response with no real reply.. I've sent 2 follow up emails since then and nothing back. Google really pisses me off some times
you can do a reinclusion request. I've had success with that from a domain I bought that was totally banned in google. Sometimes, you have to reply to that "automated" email and state your case more clearly. If you reply, humans may actually read that one and a human may even write back to you too.
i wrote to them politely and got canned responses... however, after many months (almost a year if i'm not mistaken), the site got included again into the index. so don't give up hope just yet...
Yeh, sorry I didn't make it clear, the initial "emails" sent were reinclusion requests (one for each site). And my replies were the replies to their auto-reply of my request 2 reinclusion requests, 4 follow up emails, 4 months and counting... still not a single real reply from them.
For mine, I confirmed that google did respider the pages after reinclusion request was done (about 3 months after if I remember right), but I never could get it to rank for anything. I'm too lazy to wait to see how long that'd take so buying a new domain just made more sense. Domains are so cheap, that these days, why even bother trying to reindex a domain that is known to be banned?
I have accidently bought one of these also. It was looking the same way but after 3+ months it finally did make it back in and is now a PR5.
These 2 are very nice domains... not premium .com's but they are deff. worth more than their reg. fees. Well google shouldn't penalise new owners for things they never did
I did the same. It took 3 months to get the home page indexed, than another three months later (last week) they gave me PR2. Still no other pages in the index, and not once in 6 months have google sent anyone to the site. I used to check every day, now more like once a fortnight, I've kind of put it out of my mind. And no, in future I wouldn't buy another ex-banned site (I didn't think to check either).
