I import both in smallish quantities which g by price as opposed to quantity ($3000 minimum). This is usually 3-5 pallets of product from one supplier. I also order by the container load. In the cases of the container loads the products are packaged in a branded box. it has my company logo and contact info. In terms of the branding it is actually free. They print the boxes with our logo. I have never worked with someone who drop ships direct from China however we were working on drop shipping customized snow boards. The customer would upload their graphics, we would manufacture the snowboards, add their image and then ship direct. It was cost prohibitive.
Depends what you want to buy and the factorys minimum order qty. I know someone who started by just importing $1000 orders, which turned into $50,000 container loads each month within one year.
Dr.Sell it depends on the supplier. For instanceone of my suppliers requires you commit to 2 containers per month. Each container runs about $22k including freight. You would have to pay half of the product cost up front (Irrevocable letter or credit) so that would be around $16-17k. Another supplier will allow you to purchase a minimum of $3000 worth of product and I am sure there are others who will ship smaller quantities. If you check out http://www.alibaba.com/ you can research different manufacturers and find ones who supply what you are lookin for or even better ask Adam
Depends on the size of your order.. if you order 500pcs of t-shirts then it can be sent by UPS, but if you order 30 quad bikes then it will be sent by ship to your nearest port. We can send goods by LCL - "Less Than Container Load" which basically means you share the container with someone else.
I actually get Lacoste Polo and Iphone accessories. So, far the business and experience has been a great one.
I am really new to this, but aren't there fees like taxes and stuff, ranging differently for different commodities?
Alright. Can you do some sort of training materials too (like, let's suppose there's 1 dvd, 1 book with 100 pages, and 3 thinner "books")? what kind of costs (per kit) are we talking? And would there need to be 100 or 1000 kits? What about books - if I have one book - could you manufacture & import it? (Or would it be cheaper through lulu.com for example)? Thanks EDIT: Is this the full list of products you can import? http://www.imex-direct.com/import/index.php
Yea we can get DVD’s and books manufactured, to be cost effective you would need to order 1000 kits + I dont know if it would be cheaper, all i can do is get quotes from factorys.
Well, can you ask around what producing 1000 books (100 pages, black & white) would cost? (The unit price was around 5 eur at lulu.com)
China products are loosing charms, as far as the quality is concern NOT Even Average. I run an store in UK, and my cusotmer hates china items. I used to sell but now stopped that. Tryout some other options. Especially customers in UK are very concerned about quality.
What do you sell in your store? Everything is made in china from cheap low quality alongside super, who claim to be made in Europe or somewhere more glamorous. If you are buying products which have already been produced by the factories and not to your specs, the lower price will always means lower quality. This is why you need someone in China to take care of your manufacturing quality control to make sure you get the best possible quality for the cheapest price.
Indian people will buy anything which is 75% cheaper than original price Even if it gets damaged the next day :-p Let him promote hi services dude don't hijack his thread Peace
