I'm importing close to three hundred clients into a new install from another accounting program (peachtree, ugh....!) I have been able to somewhat massage the csv file to closely match the first few field described in Appendix A however for me to make the most of this transfer and to accurately match fields, I need to import with the power user option when importing. My question is can I predefine a custom import order for filemaker to recognize? Is there a master list that provides more details I can use as a reference to build a CSV to easily import data? (Appendix A only illustrates the first few fields) Thanks for your help? DELREY
Nope, still waiting for support to respond. I don't think they disclose their table structure from the database which really hurts trying to import. They offer a paid service for a flat fee of a $1000 or $250 an hour which is a little discouraging considering I just recently purchased. Hopefully I'll hear something soon....... If I hear something I'll certainly post the response. DELREY
Delrey, I have not been able to get anybody to answer the phone at Digitalpoint for 10 days. When I made my last call on Friday or Saturday, the mail box said it was full. I called both the sales and support numbers and got the same results. I noticed your comment, that you didn't think they disclosed their table structure from the database. I was told the product came with the ability to import to all data fields and there was nothing said about additional services needed, fee flat or hourly. Maybe a good thing they have 30 day money back program. Please post a response if you hear anything. Like you I need this information soon. Spectrum
Yes, you can create a custom import order and basically import anything. For reference the Optigold data model is available here: ftp://ftp.digitalpoint.com/support/datamodel.zip If you are still having trouble finding fields you can post here and I'll try to help you out. * I am not affiliated with Digital Point.
You can import as a power user, but unless you are importing from a FileMaker database (with the field names being the same), it's not possible to "remember" the power user import order.
