Importing campaigns... Is this possible?

I have recently taken over our ad words account after a break of almost a year and it is in a bit of a mess and needs organising.
Ideally I would like to start again from scratch, but I feel this would be too time consuming as we have hundreds upon hundreds of adverts.

Is it possible to export my campaigns to an excel document, edit what I want to keep and add in all my new adverts into the spreadsheet then upload it back onto ad words?
Or do I have to make all the adverts manually?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Adwords Editor will allow you to export your campaigns as a CSV file which can be opened with Excel. I'm not sure about importing the campaign however.

Download Google's AdWords Editor (http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwordseditor/) Setup your old and new account and follow what Google suggests below:

    1. In the tree view, select the account containing the campaigns you want to move.
    2. Click the Campaigns tab.
    3. Select one or more campaigns.
    4. Go to the Edit Menu > Cut to cut the campaigns.
    5. Go to the File Menu > Open Account.
    6. Select the account where you want to paste the campaigns.
    7. Click Open Account
    8. Select the account name in the tree view.
    9. Go to the Edit Menu > Paste to paste the campaigns.
