    Hi Guys,

    I have a wordpress site www.simplyparishilton.com

I used to add content to it by going to other paris hilton blogs, saving an xml file and importing it to wordpress. It would pull in the posts and images.

Now i cannot seem to do this, what is the normal way to import blog content into a wordpress blog? Id really appreciate a few pointers.

How could i get the content from this blog thehiltonfiles.com into mine ?

    Thanks
    Steve

Sounds like you've been scraping RSS feeds and got smacked pretty hard for it. I suggest finding an alternate source of content generation if that's the case.

If you were scraping RSS feeds (I'm not saying you were, but it does sound like it), then you likely had your host's IP address blocked by the sites you were getting the feeds from.

There is one easy way to test this though. Back up your WordPress files and database, and install it to a local testing server (I use WampServer for my development, but XAMPP works too). If you can import the feeds normally, then your host's IP address has been blocked by those sites. If not, then it's likely a problem with your WordPress installation.

Sounds like your usual sources have blocked you from stealing content from them, to place on your blog. People don't like that you know.
In case you didn't know...This is stealing content. You didn't have permission to use the complete posts, or the images. It is unethical, and in many cases illegal, especially in the case of the images.

I suggest that you use the normal syndication that is available for everyone else, or create your own content for your blog:eek:

If you continue to try and find a way to scrape from these other blogs, they will report you. Plain and Simple.

I see that you actually list Associated Press (that's really funny), the world wide syndicated news agency. They won't even warn you, they will just sue you back into the stone age.
