Hey, Lately i have been looking around a lot to find some iPod nanos( for a start) and resell them either on eBay or in my city. There are a couple of problems though. The exports are mainly from China, and unfortunately 95% of them are scammers. There are a few who are legit, but I haven't found any yet. (i tried on ecplaza.net) Even if they do offer legit Apple products, they don't exactly have registration form Apple, they are just selling them directly from the factories. There are a lot of chances of loosing money and it's risky. Besides I don't know if I order lots of 10, will they charge custom/ taxes on it (importing to Canada). If someone has experience with this business some help would be great and if someone can link me up with some legit website that would be great . Thanks, Zilox
Zilox... I'd read up a bit more on that before you make decisions.. Imports from China ( or at least, assuming the places you are looking at - ecplaza, dhgate, etc) arent exactly the real thing. Either that or poor quality, refurbished, or OEM *coughs* fake in this case *coughs*. Electronics (especially ones that have been around for a while and have multiple suppliers/wholesalers/dropshippers) are usually a bad way to start buying/selling on ebay in my opinion, anyway, as the profit margin is so slim that ebay fees will probably reduce much hope. I dont really think you can get away with selling those as 'genuine' anymore. There is no such thing as selling factory-sealed ipods without a serial number. There is a word for that. Counterfeit. Thats just as bad as unopened buying stereo equipment from the back of a truck from someone who is offering you 'an amazing deal that needs to sell fast!' Then again, I couldn't get passed the idea of selling counterfeits or "legal" (not really?) 'knockoffs'. A few people I know got banned off of ebay for doing it. Then again, they dealt with DVD's, Ipods, and Cell phones.
General speaking, 10 iPod don't reach the MOQ of the factories . You can buy them from distributors . If you want to buy legit and genuine ipod, you may ask them offer certification before you send the money . Tax affairs is never a problem in China custom . It might be problems in Canada custom .
Yes,some times, whenever come to business, you need to take the risk in order to earn. I always find my supply from here and sell it at ebay techbargains.com/cheapipods.cfm
Yea, you aren't going to make much money flipping electronics by the time you factor in fees and everything. Almost all of those places in china sell replicas, and eBay has been getting very strict with this type of stuff, so I would not risk it. Unless you have a couple hundred thouasand upfront, you probably won't make much with electronics.
i would suggest calling apple and asking them to point you in the direction of distributors in your country
