Importing a Joomla Database or Content?

    Hi,

I am fairly new to Joomla but have seen websites that appear to have been created with a semi-automatic content import or feed.

I am looking to create a movie related website, and was wondering if:

    1) Is it possible to purchase a database of content, in a supported format, and import it into Joomla? For example, Movie Titles, release dates, genres, casts, etc....

    2) If this is possible, does anyone know of companies or website that sell such databases?

    3) Or, is there an extension that allows you to input these values in an efficient manner?

I figure either the websites that I have viewed using Joomla that are so massive either have teams of people working on them, or have a time saving script or content tool. I did some research but couldn't find anything on this topic

Could anyone please advise or give me their experiences?

    Any help is much appreciated!

Yes indeed I've done this for my website. That is, a script will populate joomla database creating 1000's of pages. You'll need to populate jos_content. It's easy.

There are some import scripts that you can use that basically just work of a populated excel spreadsheet. Check the extensions directory on the Joomla website
