Importants of Meta Keywords

Hi Guys

I am new comer in seo. so i want to know important about meta keywords. does anyone knows about meta keyword if anybody knows about it. so give me a reply as soon as possible.

meta keywords do not affect Google SERPS, HOWEVER if your meta keywords do not attract visitors, you may see a traffic decrease on SERPS.

 

Meta Tags helps search engines to get a snippet of the page.
It includes Description, Keyword and others.
Its sad that Google doesn't count them anymore as they uses far more advanced algorithm to process a page.

You wont get much credit from Google for having them on a page. However lot of other search engines do use that. So I think its a good idea to have them on a page.

 

I basically always use meta keywords if its easy enough to insert them, i see no reason not to.

 

Matt Cutt has confirmed that meta keyword or meta description has no weight on PR.

 

TITLE is very important for SEO
KEYWORDS are ignored by Google
DESCRIPTION is very very important to attract visitors, but doesn't affect SEO side

So concentrate on title and description.

Meta tag description is extremely important for high placement at google SERP-s, but meta tag keywords is no more important. But for other SE-s like bing, yahoo, ask is important.

 

Not used by Google , However , putting a high number of keywords may be considered as spam .. So the best thing is to stay away ..

Yahoo however is still using meta keywords, they said they don't use it anymore, but I tested it the last week and discovered that thei bot still rank pages according to meta keywords ..

 

If google don't use meta keywords then what do they use. Could you explain more on title and description. Is this in HTML and invsible on the actual web page. Thanks If you haven't guessed I'm a newbie.

 

Yep, as per new instrcutions and explanations of SERP from Google, they are not taking care of Meta Keywords. Only Meta descriptions, title and contents are considered by Google.

I always try to put the title tag and main keyword in the meta tag description.

 

Thanks guys makes a little more sense now. I had read somewhere else about the importance now of the meta discription and the title so will get on it.

 

for google i dont think meta tags are more important , but yahoo gives on page optimization the most important.
but if you use meta tags nothing wrong in that. its always something better then nothing.
