As far as my knowledge, it used to occur once in three-four months period. Last PR update, we had few weeks back(Not sure about the correct date)

There is no exact time. I get update minor sometime 2 week, and the last is 3 month.

Since PR is of no importance to your SERP rankings i think that you should worry more about getting better serps then when the next pr update will be ;)

They randomly update it about 3-4 times a year. The last update was maybe 2 months ago, I think?

PR is actually updated continuously. They update it all the time. However, they only update the value you see in the Google toolbar (and thus all PR checking tools) 3 or 4 times per year.

So, it *looks* like it's only updated 3 or 4 times per year, but it's *actually* updated all the time.

As selectsplat said, there are actually 2 kinds of PageRank.

Your URL's "actual" PR (the one used for ranking purposes... the one you never know...) is updated constantly...

But the Google Toolbar PR (the one that is NOT used for ranking... the one that is ALWAYS out-of-date and never accurate...) is updated several times per year. There is not set time. It's whenever Google decides to do so. But its typically once ever 2-4 months.

Google is unpredictable! Nobody knows when is the exact day.

    Hi everyone,

Well this is true that no one know the exact date accept Google, but an approximate time period is 3 month. I suggest you not to concentrate on PR because it's not very important so much now a days, try to collect quality do follow back links because these are helpful to make good SERP.

I agree with the others, SERP is more important then Page Rank, except you have a business in paid link.

It's usually updated 3~4 times in a year, but don't worry: PR don't make so much difference on your rankings anymore...
