hello, i got some good domain name in .biz and .us extension now the thing is that the leading domain catchers got the keyword domains in .com .net .org but never submitted it to google and yahoo coz their domain is still on parking and not developed yet. so i wanted to ask if suppose in this case above when the .com .net .org is on parking, i scanned 2 very good domain names and i got the first & second keyword available in both .biz and .us TLD's so which one should i register? the .biz or .us? the site is basically can be done to make money from adsense but can be made membership site too and people would pay for services. so which one should i register .biz or .us? i was thinking of .us but got confused with .biz so i need your help. note: im asking this coz when i will buy a domain then i will make the site and submit to google so even if the .com and .net holders sites arent submitted to google, still my site will be submitted to google so people can search for the keyword and land on my site which is in .us or .biz TLD directly. so which tld would you prefer most .biz or .us? for both in terms of seo and as well as when you think of reselling the domain names(developed websites actually). thanks ABHISHEK
I'm very interested in this question and would really like to know what other webmasters and SEO experts here think about it. As far as I know, Google and the other search engines see a new website like this: 1. They read the URL name prior to the dot and try to classify it into categories they have been programmed to recognize. 2. They read what is after the URL dot. If they see an org, an edu, a gov or a foreign country designation they automatically assign it "high level domain" status in their data base and move it up in the search rankings. However if the URL is a com or a net or a biz or whatever they don't assign any preference at all but just log it into their data base. 3. Next they read the website title in the header and move on from there. So theoretically in terms of search rankings it shouldn't make any difference whether a new URL is a com or a net or a biz or a cc, etc. provided that nothing has been done with it in terms of developing it into a website yet. Please feel free to correct me and tell me what you think and what your experiences are with these designations because I am very interested to hear what you all have to say about this subject. Thanks.
I think that in your situation, when your site is going to be business related - I prefer .biz TLD. Because .us is for US and .biz is for business. Simply.
if you are thinking in terms of SEO, then com, net, biz, us dont make any difference. al the TLDs are same when it comes to SEO and ranking. .us is for US based sites so if you have the option, you can register .biz but it depends on your site objective.
lets say i made the website and im making money from adsense on the site which is now on a free domain like .co.cc, but now i want to buy a domain TLD(.biz or .us) to be something which can be sold for higher price so which TLD should i use .biz or .us if i have to choose only 1 of these? what do you think for resell value which 1 of(.biz or .us) would be better for a nonprofit site which makes money through adsense! just think like would you pay more for a nonprofit service site running on .biz or .us when revenue comes from adsense or other ads!
