Important Link Building Question

    Hello,
I have a little important question regarding Link building.

    Example:

Suppose there is a site www.SomeSite.com and it has a valid PR 6 on it's homepage, but on all other pages it does not have the same page rank. Like on some it has 0 on some it has 2 and on some it has 3.

I know that page rank differs from page to page depending on their important (linking).

But what i wanted to ask is that people say that they have PR4 site, it basically means that their home page have that PR but not all of their other pages.

    Question

So, to increase the over all page rank of the site, i mean ever page of the site to have some good page rank, do i have to do link building for every one of them ?

I am a little bit confused with it, please help.

    Regards,

Link building to each page is NOT the only criteria for good page rank. The page should match with the theme of your website.

    Example:

If your site is about dog training and you have a page about computers then this page may not get a good page rank.

Also deep linking (links to individual pages) also important. The other important component is the anchor text in the link. This is the text that you use in the link. Most people use "Click Here" for links. It has no value. Always use keywords of the target page in anchor text.

For pure page rank internal linking matters... usually the first internal links carry the more weight.
Example your home page as a PR4, the first 5-6 internal links (maybe more) in your html will go to pages with PR3, than the other links will go to PR2 pages and so on.

main site PR is important as that waht passes the PR to the internal pages. for example, if a blog has PR5 on the homepage, the new post that site does today will not have any PR but over time, based on the homepage PR, the new post wil gain its own PR. if you get backlinks, you can get it from homepage, from internal page, or even get sitewide links. PR juice will be transferred based on the method used

So, basically i just have to get higher PR for the homepage only and then do the internal linking and then i'll have my homepage PR passed on to my other pages.

    Right?

You would need to deep link the pages and also link from your index page to all your important pages that you want to carry pr. Pr is passed throught the index page to the interior pages if the page is three clicks away from the home page chances are it won't have any pr unless you build links to it or the page that it has a link on has high pr.

You will also need to build backlinks for the internal pages.

The pagerank differs from page to page it will not be the same for entire site and no entire site pages will get rank. Concentrate on home page or any special pages from ur site. Obviously internal linking will help you.

Most of the inner pages on sites, will have lower PR naturally.... definitely link build to the inner pages of your site from external sites.... but, you can also kind of control how your page rank is passed throughout your site by doing some internal link building:

Check out this: Using Internal Linking to Build Backlinks - Part 1

do link building to increase PR of inner pages..... you can also do internal linking to spread some of the homepage's PR towards the second level pages...
