Importance of title="" tag

    How important is the title="" tag on links, and is it recommended/necessary to use it for links within the same website?

    It is important both SEO wise and also improve user friendliness of the website. So use that tag for URL as well as for image.

    You are confusing the alt tag with the title tag.

    Title tag is important search engines show the title in the search results they need to be more relevant to your topic.

    I am not confusing at all. Image alt tag describe the image and there is 'title=""' tag, also associated with image. If you want to know the detail, I can show you.

    Agree mate.. Alt just shows text when image can't load.. Title gives images some weight for a term if used as image links. Also you should title internal links with relevant text as to where they are pointing. You can also use title in elements such as h1/h2 etc. But I would not overdo it all for fear of stuffing.

    It can't hurt, so you can use it - maybe it has en effect in some of the search engines... :)
