Importance of sitemaps

Is it possible that once google index a page and again refuse later?

 

Sitemaps of your site did not affect your web site or blog, but it makes easy for visitors and specially for search engines.
Here two types of sitemaps available. one is html and another is xml. Html sitemaps are for visitors and xml sitemaps for search engines.

 

you have to make your sitemap and then submit it on google webmasters. sitemap will make google robot very easy to index your url page. It can make your website indexed quickly

 

Yup! It's true that if you don't want your site's all of the pages to be indexed you don't need the "Sitemap". But if you want to the robot to index all of your pages you should have to have a sitemap.

An important point to remember always is that people come to your site looking for information.
Net surfers are a ruthless lot. If they find information quickly, they stick around; else, they click the "Back" button on the browser.So the most important reason a site map is indispensable is because it helps the visitors to understand the site structure and layout and thus, quickly gain access to what your site has to offer.

 

I have huge content sites that have 50 to 60 thousand links. My question is "will a sitemap help my cause" for so many links?

 

I added a site map and made sure certain pages were indexed. Now they are found on Google. Before they were not. I would say a site map is important especially if you want certain pages found on Google for sure.

 

Is it absolutely neccessary to have a sitemap?

Side maps does help 2 thing. First it helps the visitors to find what he is looking for on your webpage. And second, it helps the search engine to grab all sites. I personally think, side map is a must on a website today.

 

In sitemap.hml you show crawlers pages that you want to be indexed. You may submit your sitemap once and then do not resubmit when you add new pages. URLs of these pages will be indexed anyway.

 

sitemap is very important and my friends use it to increase the PR of his website,but I don't know how it works.

From SEO's perspective, sitemaps are very important for Google as well as for users. Google needs sitemap.xml for crawling all the pages of the website. And for end-users to know which pages are there in the website sitemap.html is very useful..
Hence, I believe sitemaps should be there in our webs..
