    For some business industries the ranking of their store would mean nothing, but for those industries ranking for their images would be a great traffic and potential leads.

    In some companies ranking for images would produce a net negative ROI, as they find it less beneficial but have to expend resources insuring that their images aren’t used somewhere else.

    On the other hand, there are many sites/companies that do benefit from ranking their images. A few examples here are:
    1. Photographers: in this industry ranking images is an opportunity to get their craft in from of potential buyers.
    2. Image Sales Sites: ranking images is beneficial to get those images in front of as many eyeballs as possible.
    3. Ad Driven Sites:

    Ask your self; How can I benefit from image search? What types of image-based phrases would I benefit from rankings for? And how can I get money with those rankings? Once you know the ans. Its time to make it possible.

    Optimizing Your Images for Rankings

    The first thing to do is optimized for their size, in knowing this there are a lot of tools online that you can use, just be patient and be more creative in researching, You can find a few of the better ones listed by Bryan Eisenberg on the recently updated Website Testing Tools site. After optimizing your image size, you need to check on their load times and reducing this loading process on your server.

    There are a few core areas that need to be directly optimized, let's discuss them one by one.

    Image Name: After having the suited image for your campaign, you need to check on an alpha-numerically named to let them identify the content. With this you've described the image and named it in the URL.

    Alt Tags: This is very important; adding Alt tags to your images has two functions;
    1. This is to connect the image directly with a set of text.
    2. Give the engines a set of information to use as quasi-anchor text if the image is used as a link.
