Here is something that will explain importance of outbound links and anchor text. Just type a keyword "Click Here" in google and you'll find adobe site in the first position. Visit there site and you'll not fine "Click here " in Title, Meta tag, body, H1 or H2 .... no where on the page. Than what allows adobe site to be at 1st position on Google with keyword "Click Here". Now check this out... They've Anchor text called "Click here to download...." on various high PR sites on different IPs. This clearly explains Goolge does gives lot of importance to outbound links with Anchor Text. Regards
it's more to popularity. the keywords "click here" or 'click here for download' are the most keywords used by all webmasters for downloading purposes. Most of them are using adobe for their documentation/reports/ebook/ etc. That's why the keywords are about Popularity.
It clearly shows the importance of anchor texts. We must be careful in choosing the appropriate anchor text for our sites. Nice findings.
It's simply due to the attrition of adobe acrobat "click here" text. It's common knowledge Google pays a load of attention to link text.
Thank god Google did something about Google Bombing so we don't have to see a new post every week about "Miserable Failure" - Although "french military victories" is still there
I think this can explain the reasons why text link is better than image link, because you can put your keywords in the anchor text.
With anchor text, is it better to directly target your words (like with the fewest words possible) or should you use detailed anchor text with your targeted words in it?
Another one, does the ALT TITLE for a text link has any SEO value at all? I keep adding it to my text links, but I'm not sure if there is any benefit of using it...
Well, al least your users get some benefit. If they stop his mouse over the links for two seconds, they will see a floating menu your "title text".
