I know this is a tricky question but important too? Q1. Which one do you think of the following will be more beneficial? 100 PR4 Links from a Single PR5 Site OR 50 PR4 Links from Two PR5 Sites (i.e. 25 Each) Don't tell me to try and learn, I just wanted to know if somebody out there had done some research on this? Q2. If I create say 10 blogs on blogger.com and provide a link to my website from these, does google offsets the importance of the link as it is coming from the same domain? Abhilash
Thats not going to get you anywhere really. You can have 1000 links from PR5, and google will limit the wieght on it because its only 1 source. 2. If you create 10 blogs on blogger, again it's the same story as question one. Plus I think google considers blogger link wieght even less then normal because of many spam blogs that are created for link building.
I can understand the logic behind ur answer to Q1 but as far as Q2 is concerned I am a bit doubtfull, Google own blogger, i think. It should not be easy for google to undervalue a link from its own sites, though it is a blog. Any views from experienced guys out there? It does undervalue because of several different spammy tactics that have been going on at Blogger.com. This would include making fake blogs (splogs as I've heard them called...silly name at best) or comment/trackback spam. Both methods build up links, and Google knows that webmasters are taking advantage of the automation tools being built to build fake blogs for link purposes and comment/trackback spam. Get various C class ip address links to your site. The more, with appropriate anchor text and related to your own niche, the better.
I would say go with the PR4 links from 2 different sites. The more sites the better because G really does devalue bunches of links from the same place. Otherwise, it would be easy to get a high PR just by making tons of posts on one forum.
A1. Definitely, more the sites the better so go for 50 PR4 links from two websites. A2. That can help, but only if you build "reputation" to those blogs and get some good quality links to those blogs. Only building those blogs just for the sake to get links won't work. A piece of advice: Start working ACTUALLY and think big.
