Good morning everybody, Our recent lunch conversation and debates have been all around connectivity. I thought you guys might have some interesting insight and possibly some links or reference material that might help. The question is: When developing a desktop application that offers the user an interface to online services, after authentication, how important is offline functionality and features? Initially the thought was that since the application offers services that are only available when online, there is no need for any offline functionality. Then the discussions moved to compare the questions to applications such as Microsoft Outlook. How important is the ability to allow the user to queue actions, while being offline? Thoughts? Comments?
