Hey guys, I've got a site which is currently in the process of being optimised, however the SEO expert has left me to do the backlinking. I have some very good backlinks so far...I have some PR7, PR6 and PR5 links, however what is the important of duplicate IP addresses? Do the search engines discount them? If I find some blogs, and post relevant comments and my URL...Will all these be duplicate IP addresses because I posted them myself? Thanks in advance.
As far as I know, more links from duplicate IP addresses are equal to 0. Oh and you got the concept of duplicate IP wrong. It's not who posts the comments but it's the IP of the server the blog/ website is hosted on.
k, is that mean if i submit my site url to 100 other websites (not mine) then it still increase my PR am i rite?
If you dont own the blogs and they are not part of some interlinked ring then the IP's are going to be different. If you own the blogs and you know they all sit on the same IP it may look a little weird. But i dont believe in general in backlinks from some sites sharing the same IP as being bad, i know of people paying through the nose with their hosting because they believe all of their websites should be on different c class for each. A tip for you, vary your anchor text if your not already thinking about that Also link to your innner pages if its relevant, more natural looking than always the homepage.
Yeah, as long you your link is not nofollow, but don't ignore a backlink becuase a site uses nofollow; it may still generate good traffic if not PR.
