Importance of Adsense for Search

Guys, I was thinking today of the diffrence this option might have in our sites. Think about it, if one of our visitors doesnt find in our sites what he is looking for and sees the "search" option somewhere in the page, he might go to it, search for what he is looking for and by doing that, they will leave our site. Now, we might make some revenue if they click in thise sponsored link ads, which rarely happens since they are focusin on the middle search results. So are we losing clicks/money by having the google search function in our sites? If we dont have it, a visitor might stick around trying to find the info and by that increasing the chance of clicking in of our ads instead of leaving throught the adsense for search door. Is it worth it to have it or not? What is your opinion on this?

Personally I've had little success with that search bar and don't run it on any sites anymore. I guess it depends on the site and how it fits in though.

If you just set it to default on Searching your site instead of the web you shouldn't lose much in the way of visitors, unless of course they click on an ad (which is the point of the thing anyways, right?)

If you set it to default on Web Search then I can see how you could lose some pageviews...
