I can't find any information about import taxes in Europe. There is nothing, literally no bit of information, I'm googling for 3 hours now I'm really frustrated. So the forum is my last resort. I'm interested if there is any import tax on a consumer electronics in Europe / Italy. I'm buying mp3 player under 400$ from U.S. Please help me
I'm sorry I can't tell you an answer, but I'm pretty sure there would be tariffs into Europe. How much, I have no idea. berr.gov.uk/europeandtrade/importing-into-uk/import-tariffs/page11291.html, it might help. It has phone numbers. It took me 4 seconds via google.
Italy I don't know but we are all EEC so it is probally the same. It is on the price of the item of regardless what it is. Technically you will be charged 17.5 % for item coming into UK for example. In practice for just one item they will not bill you. Too much hassle for £30 of duty. I often bring sample in from China that are that price and not pay duty. Bring in 100 and of course you will pay. Shipping is excluded incidentally
You may consider asking this tax question at TaxForum.us more likely to get a professional answer there
No, whilst there is no tax for importing/ exporting within the EU there is no standard import duty/ sales tax across europe so you still need to look at your individual country.... you would need to look at the italian equiv to the HMRC website in the UK but as I cant read italian it will be hard to find for you.
